If you’re going on a trip, it’s a good idea to make sure you’ve downloaded the Trail Wallet Travel Budget app. After all, it’s tricky to keep track of your expenses when you’re out on vacation. With all the food, souvenirs, and attractions that greet you when traveling, it’s tempting to spend more than your budget. That’s why it’s good to have a travel budget app that will tell you if you’re going overboard.

The Trail Wallet App comes with cool features designed to help travelers keep track of their expenses at just a glance. For example, you can track your expenses with the local currency of the place you’re vacationing in, and the app can convert it to your home currency. This gives you a better understanding of just how much you’re actually spending.
It’s also possible to input expenses in several currencies which is useful for countries that accept multiple. The app retrieves real-time exchange rates as long as it’s connected to the internet.
Additionally, a traveler can input the budget and dates of a specific trip. As you enter your expenses, the app will give you a view of how much is spent from the budget given. Users are also able to enter expenses according to categories. The color-coded chart gives users an overview of the percentage spent per category.
How do you use Trail Wallet?
When you first launch the app, it’s going to set a home currency based on the regional settings of your phone. If this doesn’t match your actual location, you can start searching for the country you’re in, and the app will set itself to the local currency when you start keying in your expenses. You can even set it so that you can enter expenses in several currencies. However, the app’s creator does not recommend this, as it will then require you to select a currency every time you enter an expense. This can make the supposedly simple process lengthier and decrease the app’s efficiency.
Once you want to begin budgeting, you can set the budget you have for the whole trip or per day. Then, you can start entering your expenses as they come up. Expenses are separated into categories, and you can assign a color per category. These colors show in the auto-generated pie chart which gives you a bigger picture of your overall expenses. If you need even more customization, you can add more categories.
Setting dates can be done manually or automatically. When you start inputting expenses, the app will create a folder named ‘Current Trip’ which you can manage and rename to be more specific. The app will also assume the end of your trip once you stop entering expenses.
How much does the Trail Wallet App cost?
The Trail Wallet App can be downloaded from the App Store for free. However, it does come with in-app purchases in case you want to upgrade. The free version can track up to 25 items. If you want to track more than that, you’ll have to download the paid version which costs $4.99 and comes with unlimited tracking. The paid version also has cute cartoons that give feedback on your spending habits while on your trip.
